Brighton & Hove City Council have proposed allocating the Coal Yard site as a waste management site. Both Hove Station Neighbourhood Forum and the owners of the site objected to this proposal and organised a petition. The petition had about 700 signatures (on paper or online) and was delivered to the council on 6th January 2016.
