This is an invitation to attend the Inaugural General Meeting of the Hove Station Neighbourhoods Forum on July 2nd at the Vallance Community Centre – 7.30pm to 9.30 pm

The date of the meeting and outline agenda was circulated  to all Forum Members and Supporters on June 23rd. This invitation confirms the date and provides the detaied agenda papers for the meeting.

Since December 2012 the Forum has been working on an informal basis towards the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan for an area which includes Development Area 6 (as designated in the Brighton and Hove City Plan) and the neighbourhoods which adjoin DA6.

We have had nine Forum meetings and made some real progress:

– Working Groups have been established which are taking forward issues which were raised at the Have Your Say Day in February
— we have produced a Community Engagement Strategy to enable us to develop a Neighbourhood Plan which is fully supported by residents and businesses in the area
– we have good working relationships with a range of BHCC officers who are supporting the development of a Neighbourhood Plan
– we have established contact with many of the landowners and developers with interests in the area
– we are developing partnership working with a range of organisations whose work includes the Hove Station Neighbourhoods area – such as the Gpldsmid Local Action Team, the Hove Business Partnership and the Hove Civic Society
– we are developing a Low Carbon Neighbourhoods Community Energy Plan in collaboration with the Brighton and Hove Energy Services Company (BHESCO) – initially this is to help residents and local businesses reduce their energy bills
– and we have recently set up our web-site www.hovestationforum.co.uk

Further information about our work to date can be found in the attached papers and on the website

Having made this progress the time has come to formalise the work of the Forum – hence this invitation to the Inaugural Meeting.

We hope you can come and join the forum. If you want to join but cannot attend then please send a completed application form to Jo Shaw, 56 Fonthill Road, Hove BN3 6HD
